QUIET LUXURY - clean and elegant aesthetic

If for some, luxury is synonymous with logos and statement pieces, in quiet luxury, this luxury is rather translated through discretion, and motivated by issues such as sustainability and practicality.

Quiet luxury is a term used to describe a lifestyle or consumption pattern that prioritizes quality, elegance and discreet comfort.

As opposed to an ostentatious and exhibitionist style, quiet luxury values sophisticated design, simplicity and attention to detail.

Some brands that are often associated with the concept of quiet luxury include:

  1. Bottega Veneta - The Italian brand is known for its minimalist, sophisticated aesthetic, with a focus on quality materials and attention to detail.

  2. The Row - the brand founded by sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen is known for its timeless pieces, with an impeccable cut and refined finish.

  3. Celine - under the creative direction of Hedi Slimane, the French brand has been known for an elegant, minimalist aesthetic with a more understated approach to luxury. One of my favorite.

  4. Loro Piana - the Italian brand is known for its high quality fabrics and its focus on timelessness in its collections.

  5. Aesop - the Australian brand of personal care products is known for a minimalist and sophisticated approach, with a special attention to the quality of the ingredients and the design of its packaging.

These are just some of the brands that are often associated with the concept of quiet luxury, but there are many others that share this refined and understated aesthetic.

My selection of quiet luxury pieces

The concept of quiet luxury can also be applied to other areas, such as travel, food and decoration. Rather than extravagant destinations or expensive and flashy restaurants, the quiet luxury lifestyle prefers more exclusive and authentic experiences, with a focus on quality and simplicity.

In summary, quiet luxury represents a more refined and sophisticated lifestyle, but without the need to show it ostensibly. It is an elegant style, yet understated and without exaggeration, which emphasizes quality and attention to detail.
